Privacy Policy
Effective: [Effective date — set at launch] · Last updated: October 27, 2026
Zunlis helps two people plan a date. To do that we need a little information — and no more. We don't sell your data, we don't use it for targeted advertising, and we don't show one person's answers to the other.
The short version
- You can plan a date without an account, name, email, or phone number.
- We collect your date preferences (like a city, budget, and activities) to build a plan.
- The other person sees the shared plan, not your individual answers.
- We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals.
- Anonymous plans are deleted after 90 days without activity, or sooner if you delete them.
Who we are
Zunlis is operated by [Company legal name, e.g. Zunlis LLC], a company formed in [State of formation] (“Zunlis,” “we,” “us”). Mailing address: [Business mailing address]. Privacy contact: privacy@zunlis.com.
What we collect
| Category | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Date preferences you enter | City, neighborhood or ZIP; occasion; budget range; atmosphere; activities; timeframe; indoor/outdoor and travel preferences | To find options that suit both people |
| Optional practical needs | Vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options; alcohol-free options; step-free access; quieter spaces | Only to filter venues. See “Practical needs” below |
| Plan data | Suggested options, the option you pick, your itinerary, invitation status | To show and share the plan |
| Account data (only if you create an account) | Email address, saved plans, couple-profile preferences | To save plans and provide account features |
| Payment data (only if you subscribe) | Subscription status, last four card digits, billing country — handled by Stripe | To bill and manage your subscription. We never see or store full card numbers |
| Technical data | IP address, browser type, device type, timestamps, error logs | Security, abuse prevention, rate-limiting, and keeping the service working |
| Messages to us | Anything you send to our support email | To respond to you |
We don't ask for your name, age, gender, sexual orientation, photos, dating-app profile, contact list, or precise/continuous location. Please don't include sensitive information in the location field — a city, neighborhood or ZIP code is all we need.
Practical needs
Some optional choices — such as dietary or accessibility preferences — could, in some places, be considered health-related information. They're entirely optional, chosen from a fixed list, used only to filter venues for your plan, never shown to the other person, never used for advertising, and deleted along with your plan. By selecting one, you consent to this limited use. You can leave them blank and still get a plan.
How we use information
- To generate date options and itineraries, including combining both people's preferences into a shared result.
- To run, secure, and improve Zunlis, including preventing abuse and fixing bugs.
- To provide accounts and subscriptions, and to send transactional messages (receipts, renewal reminders, cancellation confirmations).
- To understand aggregate usage (for example, how many invitations get answered) using privacy-conscious analytics that do not build advertising profiles.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms.
We don't use your information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. Automated tools, including AI models, help organize and explain date suggestions; they don't make decisions about you.
What the other person sees
When you invite someone, they see the shared plan and the options Zunlis suggests. They don't see your individual questionnaire answers, your practical needs, or any account details. Explanations of why an option fits are written about the pair, not either individual. Anyone who has the invitation or plan link can open it, so share it only with the person you intend to — and you can turn a link off at any time.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Hosting and database (e.g., Vercel, Supabase) — to run the service and store plans.
- Venue and map data providers — we send search terms like an area and activity type to look up real places. We don't send who you are.
- AI model providers — we send de-identified preference data to help rank and describe options, under terms that prohibit using it to train their models.
- Payments (Stripe) — if you subscribe. Stripe's use of your payment data is also governed by its own privacy policy.
- Email delivery — if you have an account, for transactional messages.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect someone's safety, to investigate fraud or abuse, or as part of a merger or acquisition (in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information). A current list of service providers is available on request.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and have not done so in the past 12 months.
Cookies and local storage
We use only what's needed to make Zunlis work: for example, keeping your in-progress answers in your browser tab until you submit, and keeping you signed in if you have an account. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. Because we only use strictly necessary storage, we don't show a cookie banner. If we ever add non-essential cookies, we'll ask first where required and update this policy.
How long we keep information
- Unsubmitted answers: stay in your browser tab and are cleared when you close it.
- Anonymous plans and invitations: deleted after 90 days without activity, or when you delete them.
- Account data: kept while your account is open; deleted within 30 days after you delete your account, except where we must keep limited records.
- Billing records: kept as long as required for tax and accounting (typically up to 7 years).
- Security logs: kept for a short period (typically 30–90 days).
Security
We use encryption in transit, unguessable invitation links, access controls that keep each plan private by default, and rate-limiting. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: know what personal information we have about you; access or get a copy of it; correct it; delete it; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling (we don't do these); limit use of sensitive information; and not be discriminated against for using these rights. In many cases you can act directly: delete a plan or turn off a link from the plan page, or delete your account in settings.
To make a request, email privacy@zunlis.com. Because anonymous plans aren't tied to an identity, we may ask you to verify control of the plan link or account. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision; if your appeal is denied, you can contact your state attorney general. We respond within the time the law requires (generally 45 days).
Global Privacy Control: we treat a GPC signal as a valid request to opt out of sale and sharing for that browser.
Residents of the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
If these laws apply, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (building your plan), our legitimate interests (security and improving Zunlis), your consent (optional practical needs), and legal obligations. You may also object to processing, request restriction, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Information may be processed in the United States using appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Age requirement
Zunlis is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used Zunlis, contact us and we'll delete the information.
Links to other sites
Plans link to venues, maps, and booking sites we don't control. Their privacy practices are their own.
Changes
If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders before the change takes effect. We won't apply a materially less-protective change to information we already hold without your consent where the law requires it.
